May = Birthday!

 
May is a fun month. There is birthday after birthday.  Brian’s on the 7th, Kara’s on the 14th and Mary’s on the 21st!  Oh, and Mike’s on the 25th.  Wow!  That’s a lot of special days. And special days mean special red plates!  This year we got to have Becky around to celebrate.  She made the yummy cake and even decorated it with sprinkles.  Good job, Becky!

Picking up where we left off…

Once winter was over, spring arrived!  And with it comes new spring flowers & pretty butterflies.  Back in May or so we did some updating to the front beds.

We removed the old scraggly boxwoods and added azaleas

Some pretty blue/purple things…Sally would know what it is.  Oh and that scraggly boxwood was transplanted from the other bed.  It’s looking much nicer now than it does here.
 
This pretty butterfly spent several weeks in its chrysalis before emerging onto our front porch.  Sadly, I don’t think it survived more than a day because we found wing parts scattered on the front porch the next day :(
